Greetings all, hoping this message finds you well!
We want to share more information about the songs that are on There Are No Ordinary Moments. Although we are an instrumental group, our songs have a story and narrative that helps give them identity and meaning. From the names, inspiration and sounds -it gives each song its personality-
Tramp Hollow (Kyle Lund)
"I’ve always been interested in the romantic and more importantly the grimy side of being a hobo, transient, bum, vagabond, drifter, transient etc.
While sitting in the comfort of my chair vs. freighthopping, I stumbled upon an online thread regarding a “Tramp” getting 10 days in jail in my old hometown newspaper. This immediately caught my eye. The person in the article was described as “a cripple and more recently a tramp” …obviously this was not during the enlightened times we live in now. The perp was depressed and secured money for drink. The judge said he had sympathy for a cripple but not for a man who “incapacitates himself by drink”.
Someone then commented they knew of a place (on the wrong side of the tracks I’m sure) in our hometown as “Tramp Hollow”. I knew my next music would be inspired by this. It had to be.
I freely admit there was a time in my life where I wanted to be some variation of a tramp and life on the run. Like the poor sod who drank too much, I had that streak in me. I highly doubt I would have made it far without becoming a drifter statistic, but those thoughts fascinate me always.
The band really took my ideas and fleshed them out better than I could ever imagine. When I hear our take on “Tramp Hollow” it completely submerges me in that mysterious, foggy, and hard life. I love the title, and the images it flashes through my mind."
Thank you for listening and for your support!
